The Government of the Balearic Islands, through the Fundació Bit and ADR Balears, is accompanying seven startups that lead ICT-Tourism expertise and AI implementation in the archipelago.
The innovative ecosystem of the Balearic Islands will play a prominent role in the upcoming edition of South Summit, one of the international benchmark events for startups and investors. The Government of the Balearic Islands will support local companies with a high innovative component to boost their visibility and facilitate their search for funding.
A Free Showcase to Connect with Investors
Seven startups from the archipelago will be located in the event’s exhibition area. These companies will have access to a completely free space within the stand of the Government of the Balearic Islands. It is a strategic showcase where they can pitch themselves to large corporations and potential investors, generating new business opportunities and collaborations.
The seven selected companies participating alongside the Government demonstrate the region’s potential not only in Artificial Intelligence (AI) development, but especially in the ICT-Tourism sector, where the Balearic Islands provide consolidated international expertise and leadership:
AtalaIA: A technology company located at ParcBit that develops applied artificial intelligence to transform complex data into clear decisions for the business fabric.
Dimoni: An AI- and automation-driven marketing platform, currently hosted under the Emprenbit program, designed to optimize companies’ digital strategies.
Ubex: A sovereign AI infrastructure and execution platform designed for regulated environments. The company will leverage South Summit to launch the first edition of Ubex Labs, an intensive summer training program focused on practical AI training and process automation. Its mentorship program will offer participants the opportunity to work on real-world projects with direct application in companies, learning to develop AI agents, automate workflows, and build applications.
Hotel Experiences: A tech firm focused on improving customer experience and optimizing hotel management. It stands as a clear example of how digitalization transforms the Balearic hotel sector toward a more efficient and excellence-oriented model.
Sentinella: An innovative solution applied to safety, sustainability, and data control in tourism and hotel environments—a key tool for the transition toward so-called “Smart Destinations”.
Voltic: A company specialized in energy technology and sustainable mobility that offers smart infrastructure solutions for the tourism sector. It connects the green transition with the current needs of modern accommodation and transport, and was the winner of the latest edition of the Emprende XXI awards.
WeSea Boats: A digital platform specialized in nautical and recreational tourism that modernizes the commercialization and management of charters and maritime experiences—one of the tourism niches with the highest growth projection and added value in the islands.
The AI Debate in the Tourism Sector
Beyond the exhibition area, the Balearic presence will make an impact on the congress’s activity program. Through Fundació Bit, a panel discussion of experts will be organized under the title: “Traveling Without Searching: How to Differentiate Yourself When AI Starts Deciding the Next Trip.”
In this session, three highly prestigious professionals closely linked to Fundació Bit’s innovation Hubs will analyze the paradigm shift in the tourism sector and how the emergence of AI will shape the way companies and consumers operate in travel planning and marketing.
The speakers will be:
Iñaki Fuentes, COO at TravelgateX.
Juan Huguet, CEO at Anyformat.ai.
Loris Fochesato, Co-founder of Remoteo | Offugo.
The debate will be moderated by Sebastián González, Vice President of Fundació Bit and Director General of Innovation and Digital Transformation of the Government of the Balearic Islands.
Strategic Impact and Growth
Participating in an international event of this caliber represents a qualitative leap for any startup, offering them:
Visibility: By positioning themselves in Southern Europe’s main entrepreneurial showcase.
Access to funding: Thanks to direct contact with business angels and international funds.
High-value networking: In an environment that facilitates key strategic alliances for growth.
Furthermore, integrating these companies within the Balearic Islands Government stand allows them to act as a joint delegation. This unity not only multiplies the individual impact of each brand and fosters internal synergies, but also reinforces the archipelago’s image as a powerful, competitive, and leading innovative ecosystem in the global market.
This initiative is part of the Company Attraction and Retention Plan of Fundació BIT, through which personalized advisory and support programs are carried out for knowledge-based companies. These actions, linked to the technology-based incubator Emprenbit (present at ParcBIT and the CentreBIT hubs in Menorca and Ibiza), also facilitate access to networking networks and specialized forums for hosted companies and any other interested parties.
